Company Profile
The involvement of Mr. Saliba in business started in 1982. Whilst still in employment with a locally based foreign firm, he built a machine to print logos on small pepper tubes. This venture was operated from Mr. Saliba's residence – the main employee being his wife.
In 1989, Mr. Saliba ventured as a self-employed person manufacturing moulds in a garage adjacent to his residence. As the business started taking off, an injection moulding machine was purchased. With the arrival of this machine, a set of custom products were launched, namely pepper tubes and ice-cream spoons.
In 1990, Mr. Saliba moved to an industrial area in the limits of Gudja. With this move, he increased his stock range. He also started winning sub-contracting jobs from other larger companies.
In 1996, Mr. Saliba moved to factory A 25 C, at Industrial Estate, Marsa. He continued winning more sub-contracting jobs and his business employed 13 persons on full time basis, working on 3 shifts basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At this point the factory also inceased its tools to improve the product range. In 2001, due to more business expansion, factory A 25 B, at Industrial Estate, Marsa.
In June 2002 Mr. Saliba started operating as F.S. Engineering and Plastics Limited under the Business Promotion Act (Cap.325), Business Promotion Regulations, 2001. At present his business employs 21 persons still working on 3 shifts basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, In December 2003, FS Engineering and Plastics was certified was certified I.S.O. 9001-2000 by BVQI. The company has ever since continued its investment and during 2005, it acquired its first four state of the art injection moulding machines.
